America’s Counties member Bradford County recently hosted Canada-based Specialized Tech Inc. for a tour of northeast PA natural gas development. As mentioned in the Daily Review, “Specialized Tech Inc., is an example of how America's Counties for Energy Independence (ACEI) is working to attract businesses to energy-producing counties like Bradford,” said ACEI Chairman and Bradford County Commissioner Doug McLinko.
The Daily Review explains “Specialized Tech sells equipment that isolates sand that comes out of a well during its development and when the well is producing gas, so that the sand doesn't corrode gas transmission lines, valves, and other equipment. The Bradford County commissioners arranged to have representatives of the company meet with [Tony] Ventello of the Progress Authority on Monday, and Commissioner McLinko and Bradford County Republican Chairman Eric Matthews gave them a tour of gas industry sites in county.”
America’s Counties for Energy Independence prides itself as serving as county ambassadors to showcase the economic opportunities of natural gas development. This visit by Specialized Tech is just one example of the countless tours our member counties give to businesses and other interested stakeholders.
McLinko added, “I can’t think of anything more rewarding than spending a day with a business that results in even just one new job for Bradford County, the Commonwealth or another state – helping create jobs is why I go to work.”
