Native to South Texas and a 5th generation McMullen County son, Judge Teal has a deep respect for the land, resources and people.
Elected County Judge, McMullen County, Texas and took office January 1, 2011. Prior to running for the position of Judge, he held a position with a major natural gas pipeline company, with varying increased responsibility, for 26 years. During his pipeline and gas processing career, he was involved in many facets of the industry from writing operating procedures in facilities to handling internal and external audits of financials as well as environmental and safety.
Prior to taking office, Judge Teal held a position on the McMullen County ISD School Board for 16 years, serving as Board Secretary for a time. In the same period, Judge Teal served as a Charter Member of the Coastal Bend Workforce Development Board for many years.
Currently, Judge Teal is on the Board of Camino Real Services, Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend and Coastal Bend Council of Government. In addition he is a member of National Association of Royalty Owners Association, McMullen County Emergency Management Director and holds certification of Chief Investment Officer of the County.
In his personal life, Jim is married to Sheri and they have a daughter, Ashton (Brandon) O’Neal and son, Marshall.
