Doug McLinko has served as Bradford County Commissioner since 2004.
Commissioner McLinko was personally invited by Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley to address Governor Corbett's Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission to discuss his experiences in Bradford County with the natural gas industry. Lieutenant Governor Cawley wrote, “I believe you are one of the leading northeast Pennsylvania county commissioners when it comes to understanding the natural gas industry…”
Commissioner McLinko testified before the Senate Majority Policy Committee Public Hearing on The Local Impact of Marcellus Shale Development and highlighted the cooperation between energy companies and local governments in addressing issues arising from Marcellus Shale development.
Commissioner McLinko testified before the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement in Quebec City, Canada. The Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement is an independant agency that reports to the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks.
Commissioner McLinko organized a meeting with Bradford County municipal officials to encourage the adoption of road maintenance agreements rather than costly and cumbersome posting and bonding mandates on energy and trucking firms.
Prior to his election as county commissioner, Doug chaired the Wysox Township Board of Supervisors. He has been active in the community for many years and involved with organizations including the Salvation Army Service Unit where he serves as chairman and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Doug also served as a director on the Bradford County Conservation District Board. He is a past president of the Wysox Chamber of Commerce.
